DIEULINEDA is a sweet seven-year-old little girl who lives in the village of Galette Chambon with her parents and her brother. In the fall, she hopes to begin the K3 program at Maranatha School. Her parents are farmers who work very hard growing produce in their garden to take to market and sell. In recent years, this work has become much more difficult because of the dangers on the roads and near the markets, as well as because Dieulineda’s mother has become very ill.
Even though she is still very young, Dieulineda works hard to help her mother around the house. She has learned how to cook, clean, and wash clothes, and she faithfully helps care for things at home whenever her mother is not feeling well. Dieulineda is excited about the opportunity to attend school and believes her favorite part of school will be learning how to read and write. One day, she hopes to become a nurse so she can help care for others.
Starting school this fall would not only be a wonderful opportunity for Dieulineda, but it would also be a great help to her mother. While Dieulineda is at school in the mornings, her mother will have fewer responsibilities at home caring for young children. After school, Dieulineda will still be able to help her mother with household tasks.
Although Dieulineda is already seven years old and just beginning K3, she is eager to learn and work hard. If she does well in school and passes her exams, she may eventually be able to skip ahead to second grade and move closer to the appropriate grade level for her age. A sponsorship would give Dieulineda the opportunity to begin her education and pursue the bright future she dreams of having.
