FABIENNE is a determined 17-year-old student currently in the 10th grade at BGM High School. She lives in the village of Galette Chambon with her parents and her sister. Fabienne’s family faces significant challenges. Her father is unable to work due to a disability resulting from a motorcycle accident several years ago, leaving her mother as the primary provider. Her mother works hard as a market vendor, selling crops grown near their home, but in recent years, traveling to the market has become increasingly dangerous. Despite these risks, she continues because it is the only way to support the family, pay for her husband’s much-needed medications, and keep her daughters in school.
Fabienne is a bright and capable young woman who values her education deeply. Although she fell behind in her studies after having to leave school for a period when her father was injured and the family could not afford tuition, she has since returned and is working diligently to succeed. Her favorite subject is Creole, and she enjoys spending time with her friends when she is not studying. Fabienne dreams of becoming a nurse one day so she can care for others and give back to her community.
Sponsorship would make a meaningful difference in Fabienne’s life, helping to ease the financial burden on her family and allowing her to stay in school consistently. With support, she can continue her education, achieve her goals, and build a brighter future for herself and her family.
