Jery is a spunky little twelve year old from the village of Galette Chambon. He lives with his mother and brother. His father died not long after he was born. His mother has no source of income and the family relies on their grandparents for support. Djerry’s mother would love for him to have a sponsorship because she does not like having to ask his grandparents to help her pay for his school. Djerry loves to brush his teeth, play with friends, eat, study, and go to church. His favorite subject in school is Kreyol and when he grows up, he wants to become a doctor.

Often times, children do not know their age or birthday, and sometimes they measure smaller or larger because of illness. We do the best we can to give accurate updates, but there are cultural constraints that we cannot avoid. Also, these measurements were made in March of 2022. The child may or may not have promoted to the next grade by the 2022-2023 school year. Final exams had not been taken when the update was made.
