Kenley is a bright nine year old from the village of Galette Chambon who lives with his parents, two sisters and brother. His father is a construction contractor in the village and his mother sells things in the local market. In the past, his father has made enough money to be able to pay for his school, but over the last two years, he has been able to find very little work, and it has taken a huge toll on the family income. His school-age brother and sister are both sponsored, but now Kenley needs a sponsor too. Kenley likes to study his lessons and do homework and play with his friends. His favorite subject is mathematics and when he grows up, he wants to go to school to learn to drive a truck so that he can either drive a tap-tap (public transportation) or drive a big truck that hauls rocks and other building supplies.

The child may or may not have promoted to the next grade by the 2022-2023 school year. Final exams had not been taken when the update was made.
