Naykelie Volcy is eleven years old and lives with her aunt. Her birthday is July 23. Her mother died three years ago after her baby sister was born. Her father has never been present. She has two brothers and three sisters. Her aunt supports them by helping neighbors with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, carrying water, and working in the garden. Naykelie will be in the second grade this year and she is hopeful that she will be able to go to school. She wants to be a nurse when she grows up.
