Kerwens A.

Kerwins is a very bright 13-year-old from the village of Gullette Chambon. He lives with his parents and sister. His parents are vendors in the local market. In the past, his parents have been able to make enough money to feed their family, but they could not afford to send their children to school. Kerwins is very smart though, and he has learned that if he borrows the books of friends, he can study them and teach himself. He would really like to go to school, but he understands that his parents cannot afford it. When he came to BGM primary to register for the sponsorship program, he took a test to see what grade level he would be on if he entered school. He tested on the fifth grade level. This is very impressive considering Kerwins has not been in school for over four years. Kerwins desperately needs a sponsor in order to be able to go to school. Kerwins enjoys going to church, doing chores around the house, and studying school lessons. His favorite subjects are French and mathematics. When Kerwins grows up, he would like to become a mechanic.
