Kerline is a bright and happy 11 year old from the village of Gwo Balanse near Galette Chambon. She is in the sixth grade at our BGM primary school. Kerline lives with her parents and two sisters. Her parents work as farmers on a sharecropping farm and they have found it very difficult to support their family with the recent chaos in their country. They want to continue to send Kerline to school, but they cannot afford to pay her tuition. Kerline enjoys going to church, playing with her friends, and studying. Her favorite subject in school is mathematics, and when she grows up, she wants to become a nurse.
