Roojina is a spunky and bright 9 year old who lives with her father, two brothers, and baby sister in Hope Center Village. Her mother was Ruth, the seamstress that worked with RH Kouti from it’s beginnings in 2012. For almost ten years, Rood’s family had a good income and the expanded their house and were very active in their community and church. In 2021, Ruth suddenly became sick with respiratory issues. It is believed that she had COVID, but the hospital didn’t test her for it. After Ruth’s death, the family was completely at a loss. Her husband, Casimir, is a cabinet maker, but he struggles with heart issues. He has tried to continue to pay tuition for his three school age children since Ruth’s death, but their money is running out. He desperately needs to keep his kids in school, but the only way is to get sponsorships. Rood’s brothers are both sponsored already. Rood enjoys going to church and VBS, helping with chores around the house, studying, and playing with friends. Her favorite subject is French. When she grows up, she wants to become a nurse.
