Jimmy is a precious fourteen year old who lives with his adoptive mother. He was born to a young mother in the village who could not take care of him, so his adoptive mother took him in as her own and has been raising him ever since. His adoptive mother already had children, so Jimmy has three sisters and one brother. He was sponsored a few years ago, but his family had to evacuate the village because of gang violence. They have recently returned, so Jimmy is back in school. His mother says it would be very helpful to her if Jimmy had a school sponsor. Jimmy’s favorite subject in school is mathematics. When he grows up, he wants to become a doctor.
