Herlande is twenty three years old and lives with her three sisters and one brother. They all live with their parents in Galette Chambon. Her birthday is June 24th. Her father is a farmer and her mother washes clothes for people to make extra money. Herlande wants to be a nurse when she grows up.
Herlande was sponsored in 2015 and maintained the same sponsor in school since then. However, in 2021, she had to abandon school when her father died and her family moved from the village to live with other family. She had to sit out of school for the next six years because her mother could not afford tuition where they moved. Had she remained in school, she would have graduated by now.
