Rolander is a kind young man from the village of Bonet near Galette Chambon. He walks a long way to school every day, but he has friends that he walks with and he loves to go to Johel’s school. He has been able to go to school in the past because Pastor Johel (the principal) had worked out a trade with Rolander’s father for work in the garden. However, Rolander’s father has been sick a lot this year and has not been able to work much. Rolander also has siblings. He has a sister and four brothers. They really need some help at this point to keep all of them in school since their father has been so sick. Rolander loves to play soccer with his friends, and his favorite subject is mathematics. When he grows up he wants to become a doctor.
