LOVELIE HAD TO EVACUATE THE VILLAGE WITH HER FAMILY IN NOVEMBER 2023 WITH HER FAMILY BUT HER MOTHER COULD NOT FIND A WAY TO SUPPORT HER CHILDREN IN ANOTHER LOCATION SO SHE RETURNED TO GALETTE CHAMBON IN JANUARY. Lovelie is a bright young fourteen year old from the tiny village of Dal-Gros near the village of Galette Chambon. She lives with her mother, two sisters, and three brothers. Her mother does not have a job, so their family is dependent on other family members to be able to survive. Her grandfather is a farmer and he tries to make enough money to support them all. In her free time, Lovelie enjoys cleaning the house as well as other homes around hers. Sometimes people will pay her to clean their house. Lovelie loves her language of Kreyol and she is hoping that soon she will also be able to learn French if she is able to attend school. She understands that school is very important and once she finds a sponsor, she plans to work very hard to one day become a doctor.

Lovelie was just promoted to our BGM High School, so this is a very important year for her! She is so excited to be a high schooler now!

**Please note that each year, we depend on village volunteers whose understanding of the measuring process may create variations in accuracy. Often times, children do not know their age or birthday, and sometimes they measure smaller or larger because of illness. We do the best we can to give accurate updates, but there are cultural constraints that we cannot avoid. Also, these measurements were made in March of 2022. The child may or may not have promoted to the next grade by the 2022-2023 school year. Final exams had not been taken when the update was made. You can assume that the child will move on to the next grade up, but it is not guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding.
