EDSON FIRST ENTERED THE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM IN 2016. HE WAS SPONSORED BY THE SAME PERSON FOR FIVE YEARS AND THEN LOST HIS SPONSOR. HE LOVED HIS SPONSOR VERY MUCH. SHE EVEN PAID TO BUILD HIS FAMILY A HOUSE! SADLY, HIS SPONSOR PASSED AWAY IN 2022 AND HE DECIDED TO TAKE SOME TIME TO TRY TO HELP HIS PARENTS WITH RAISING AND SELLING GOATS FOR A WHILE, BUT HE MISSED BEING IN SCHOOL. HE KNOWS THAT HAVING AN EDUCATION IS THE KEY TO GETTING OUT OF POVERTY, SO HE DESPERATELY WANTS TO RETURN TO SCHOOL. HE CAN’T GO TO SCHOOL WITHOUT A SPONSOR THOUGH. HE DESPERATELY NEEDS A SPONSOR. 

Edson is a 22 year old young man that lives in Galette Chambon with his parents and two brothers and one sister. His parents raise and sell goats for a living. Edson is very excited about the possibility of being able to return to school after being out for a couple of years. He knows that BGM High School is a very good school and he likes the fact that the school gives sponsorships to make it possible for more young people in his village to go to school. Edson’s favorite subject is history and he hopes to become a lawyer one day. His favorite thing about his country is its rich history of strength and endurance in times of struggle.
